The brief was a modern outdoor pool for family time in summer and regular morning swims before work. Wide, central concrete steps and fountains beneath the coping stones were central to the design.

Room for the details that mattered

A pre-built fibreglass pool was considered, but its limitations would have restricted the requested steps and fountains. A reinforced concrete pool allowed the chosen step design and fountain pipework to be incorporated into the build.

Designed for life outdoors

The fountain pipework was integrated with the pool inlets and controlled by a valve. An Aquamatic automatic cover was recommended to keep leaves out when the pool was not in use, alongside an air source heat pump for seasonal heating.

Esh Winning
indoor pool

Built within a new property, this indoor pool pairs a reinforced concrete shell with tiles chosen by the client to complement the interior. An Aquamatic automatic cover and Heatstar air handling unit complete the installation.

The right finish for the brief

An insulated panel pool with a tile-effect liner was discussed as a more cost-effective alternative. The client chose a reinforced concrete pool to achieve the tiled finish originally envisaged.

Coordinated with the new build

The shell and pipework were installed first, with the pipework tested before the team returned as the building approached completion. Waterproof tanking, tiling and filtration followed. The Heatstar unit controls humidity in the pool room and provides heat for the pool.
